Editorial Reviews:
Synopsis

RYA Start to Race is a new edition to the RYA racing series and is essential for anyone beginning, or wanting to further their racing experience. Every sailor's first races are a confusing and daunting experience. Judging tactics and remembering the many rules make the entire experience a far cry from the general pottering around that they would be used to. RYA Start to Race is packed with up to date racing scenarios and tips to ensure that the racing experience is not as overwhelming as it could ordinarily be.
The aim of the book is to take the reader through the racing experience in a logical and enjoyable manner. The layout of the book means that each chapter takes the reader thoroughly through each part of the racing experience in the order in which each issue would come across. The entire book is well illistrated and is therefore very comprehensive as many of the manoeuvres are explained pictorially.
All racers remember their first hectic experiences of racing, and therefore they would argue that it is important to go on to a race course with some sort of knowledge. RYA Start to Race aims to give the reader all the knowledge that they would need.
